Software Support Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Technician to join our Los Angeles, CA engineering team. This person will be on the front line of supporting our restaurants, and may also spend some time maintaining our OSX/Windows Server network and distributing new builds in our current and future restaurants.


We are seeking an exceptionally organized and detail-oriented individual with strong written and verbal communication skills. The ideal person will be a quick learner who can easily grow his/her skill set to match the working environment. The position will involve understanding the infrastructure of our internal Bistro system, as well as our Point of Sale system, and the design of our hardware terminals.


This individual will also work closely with the restaurant management, the hardware and software engineering staff, and will need to be a self-starter, capable of diagnosing and solving a myriad range of technical and operations issues - as well as keeping an inventory and documenting our new restaurant openings.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with OSX Tiger, Linux, web servers and applications.

• Creative and analytical - You must be a great problem solver, with the ability to dive deeply into complex problems and emerge with clear and pragmatic solutions.

• Applicant must be organized and capable of documenting their procedures well.

• Experience with a BSD/Unix command line.

• Experience in basic networking tools and protocols, including DHCP and DNS.

• Experience with developing training materials and documentation development is required.

• Experience working in a restaurant (in any capacity) a big plus.

• Excellent customer skills and ability to work in a variety of customer situations.

• 2+ years industry experience in technical support, professional services, engineering, or systems engineering.

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical degree is a helpful, but not required.

• Unfettered access to a cell-phone and a working car.

• Experience in balancing and following through multiple projects with shifting priorities.
